Pet euthanasia service options:

Mobile vet service for pet euthanasia

Our vet will come to your home to assist with your pet, ensuring comfort for both you and your beloved animal during the home euthanasia. Afterward, your pet's remains will be carefully transported to the EarthPet facility in Klapmuts for the burial service of your choice.

In-clinic pet euthanasia service

You can bring your pet to the EarthPet Vet clinic in Klapmuts, by appointment, where we will respectfully perform the euthanasia. You have the option to be present during the euthanasia process or choose not to. Additionally, we'll assist in arranging the burial process of your choice at our facility in Klapmuts, Paarl.

Ambulance service for pet euthanasia

For a convenient solution, our ambulance service, part of our mobile vet service in Cape Town, is available to collect older, ill, or injured animals and transport them to our clinic. This service, either arranged directly through EarthPet Vet at a per kilometer rate or through our partnered contractor, ensures safe and efficient collection. Additionally, we offer a specially designed horse-box service for the transportation of horses.

After Euthanasia

In accordance with SAVC regulations, our veterinarian remains legally responsible for ensuring that a pet’s body is managed and disposed of in a lawful and dignified manner. For this reason, we are unable to leave a pet’s body at the client’s home following a home euthanasia.

We will therefore only be able to carry out a home euthanasia if you make use of one of our approved burial or aftercare options. This ensures compliance with the law, safeguards the dignity of your pet, and provides peace of mind that all procedures are handled responsibly.

Burial services

We offer various options for the burial of animal remains, including our environmentally friendly bio-burial and return of compost service. We still receive requests for cremations as some pet owners prefer to take their pets' ashes home. EarthPet provides the cremation option for clients who wish to receive the ashes. Please note, to minimise our carbon footprint, we do not offer mass cremations.
